Shark’s Cove

After a wild adventure out to a hidden beach at the North Shore accessible via a 4WD-only dirt road, we decided to finally check out Shark’s Cove for some snorkeling. It was fantastic! We’ve been to Hanauma a few times, but I have to say I think Shark’s Cove is at least equivalent. It’s less hassle to get down in the water for veteran snorkelers, and there are lots of fish because it’s also a preserve. For those new to snorkeling, Hanauma is fantastic. You can see pictures of the fish you’re likely to view and a ranger will provide an orientation. You can see the pictures of the fish we saw in our photo album. I took my Pentax camera underwater and shot video, then grabbed the frames as still images. I guess I should add the Pentax to my list of awesome gear…
