Baby goose rescue at Ho’omaluhia

Three boys riding a "palm motorcycle"!

We had a great time at Ho’omaluhia today with visitors from England and a friend of Brenda’s along for the excursion. One of the highlights was finding a little baby goose swimming up to meet us while feeding the fish. The little guy was clearly separated from his family. The visitors from England acted swiftly and spotted the goose family about 200 yards away so we carried the little guy over there (after feeding him some bread, of course!) and reunited him with mommy and daddy goose. Thanks for a great outing, friends, despite the grey skies and brief downpour! It’s always good to get out in the vast expanse of Ho’omaluhia, nestled up against the Ko’olaus.
