Sea Life Park

A great day at Sea Life Park!

A great day at Sea Life Park!

Sea Life Park is a great attraction for kama’aina and visitors alike. I just realized I hadn’t posted anything about one of our favorite haunts and it’s the slow “winter” season here – SLP could use more traffic and we want to be sure they get the recognition they deserve. The staff and trainers are so friendly, and the picture above is proof. This “mermaid” was cleaning the glass for us to see the fish and was so pleasant, waving, blowing bubbles for the boys, throwing shakas…what a treat to have a huge aquarium for us to admire the fish and test our identification skills so we remember our reef friends by name. The marine mammal shows are excellent – I have it on good authority that they are at least as good as any Sea World show you may have been to – and the ice cream at the little stand near the souvenir shop is OUTRAGEOUSLY good. Ooops…we were talking about fish. But really, it can get hot in the sun and ice cream keeps the core temperature down. Kids love the playscape in the middle of the park, too. I recommend it highly – buy an annual pass if you live here. It’s a great value! If you’re visiting, the park is in a neat part of the island you might not otherwise visit. Take a drive, and stop in for a show and a snack.
